I choose to live here because I like being involved and being able to make a difference in my community.  In 1999, I helped start the Humane Society of Moab Valley and have been an active member ever since.  I also helped start "Hearts & Paws", where people and their pets visit hospitals, schools, etc.  Most recently I have become a Tellington Touch technician using this technique working with animals to improve their health, decrease pain and create enhanced self-awareness so that the animals can improve their behavior.  Besides working with my own animals, one of my main goals is to make the shelter animals more adoptable and make adoptions more successful.     In 2004, we started a local monthly community dance, which is still going strong.  Besides dancing, I have been calling dances.  Among other events, I volunteer for the Moab Music Festival, the Moab Folk Festival, and the half-marathons (when I'm not away dancing).       Hiking with my dogs is an (almost) every day event.  I garden, play bridge, and work out with water aerobics, yoga and pilates.  As often as possible I run rivers, ski, backpack, and go camping. Life is good, and I believe we are here to enjoy it!
